Incorrect timestamps on messages

If the timestamps displayed on your messages are incorrect, please check your phone's time and time zone configuration. You may need to adjust them.

We recommend setting your date and time to Automatic or Network Provided. With this setting enabled, your mobile provider will set your phone to the correct time. If the incorrect time is still displayed when this setting is enabled, your network might have an issue. Please get in touch with your mobile provider to address this. As a workaround, you can manually modify your date and time settings and correct your time zone.

Note: Your time zone is different from the actual time. Make sure you select the correct time zone for your location.

To configure your time zone manually, please follow these steps on your phone:

  • Android android.png: Go to Settings > System > Date & Time.
  • iOS apple.png: Go to Settings > General > Date & Time.

Problems sending and receiving messages

Remember that sometimes messages may take a while to send or receive, and it's expected only to show a single checkmark.

There are various reasons why a message may be delayed or only display one checkmark:

  • Either you or your contact may be experiencing connection problems.
  • The recipient's phone may be turned off.
  • The recipient could be out of the coverage area or roaming.
  • The recipient might be out of data on their phone.
  • The recipient may have seen a notification but has yet to open FaceCall.
  • Their notifications might be slow or disabled.
  • The recipient could have blocked you.

Here are some steps to try if you're unable to send or receive messages:

  • Update FaceCall to the latest version.
  • Try updating your phone's operating system.
  • Make sure you're connected to the internet.
  • Restart your device.
  • Ensure you have completed the verification process for your phone number.
  • Save your contact's phone number in the full international format on your device.
