Your IP address contains information that can potentially reveal your general geographical location. When you make calls on FaceCall, the app normally establishes a direct connection between you and the other caller to ensure the best call quality. However, this means that your IP address could be visible to the person you're calling.
To enhance your privacy, FaceCall offers a feature that lets you hide your IP address during calls.
How to enable IP address protection
To protect your IP address during FaceCall Voice/Video Call:
- Open the FaceCall app on your device
- Tap on your Profile
to access settings
- Tap on the Settings
- Scroll down and select Privacy and Security
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap Advanced
- Find Protect IP address in calls and toggle the switch to enable it
- Once enabled, all your incoming and outgoing calls will be routed through FaceCall servers, hiding your IP address from other callers.
What is IP address protection?
When you enable IP address protection, your calls will be securely relayed through FaceCall servers instead of creating a direct connection with the other caller. This makes it much more difficult for others to:
- Determine your approximate location
- Connect your FaceCall account to your other online activities
- Access your network information
