Turn Chat Lock on or off

Chat Lock adds an extra layer of privacy to your chats in FaceCall. Locked chats are kept separate from your other chats and require device authentication to open.

On iPhone, FaceCall uses Face ID to open locked chats and read their notifications on the  device.

Turn Chat Lock on

  1. Open FaceCall and go to Chats.
  2. Press and hold the chat you want to lock.
  3. Tap Lock chat.
  4. On Keep this chat locked and hidden, tap Continue.
  5. Authenticate with Face ID.

The chat is moved out of your regular chat list and kept under Locked chats.

View your locked chats

  1. From Chats, pull down on the chat list to reveal Locked chats.
  2. Tap Locked chats.
  3. Authenticate with Face ID.
  4. Tap the chat you want to open.

Unlock a chat

  1. Open Locked chats and authenticate.
  2. Press and hold the chat you want to unlock.
  3. Tap Unlock chat.

The chat returns to your regular Chats list.

Use a Secret code

A Secret code lets you find hidden locked chats from Search. From Locked chats, tap Settings and follow the prompts to create a code. Use at least 4 characters or one emoji, and choose something you can remember.

If you forget your Secret code

FaceCall includes an Unlock and clear locked chats option. Using it unlocks your locked chats and clears the Secret code, but it also clears the messages, photos, and videos in those locked chats.

Note

  • Locking a chat does not delete the conversation.
  • Unlocking a chat returns it to your regular Chats list.
  • Use Unlock and clear locked chats only when necessary because it clears content from locked chats.
